Committees

The Harker Heights Chamber of Commerce is a strong, leading organization due to the involvement of its members. The committees, outlined below, serve as avenues to engage the members in enhancing all aspects of our community. You are invited to serve on one or more committee to increase your visibility, address concerns of importance to the business community, and meet other community conscious individuals.

The Military Affairs Committee (MAC) focuses on supporting military awareness in the community and assists in bridging the gap between the community and Fort Hood.

The Music Friendly Committee supports and promotes live music as a vital part of our local community. Through collaboration with musicians, venues, and community partners, the committee works to create opportunities for local talent and highlight Harker Heights as a welcoming place for live performance.

The Food, Wine & Brew Fest Committee supports the planning and execution of the Chamber’s annual Food, Wine & Brew Fest, a premier event celebrating local flavors and community engagement. The committee works collaboratively on event logistics, vendor and sponsor coordination, entertainment support, and overall guest experience.

The Community Celebration Committee supports the planning and execution of the Chamber’s annual Community Celebration event. The committee assists with event logistics, sponsorship support, programming, and guest experience. Its purpose is to help create a meaningful and memorable event that recognizes community achievements, strengthens partnerships, and celebrates the people and businesses that contribute to the vitality of the community.

The Legacy Leaders Committee is designed for experienced professionals who value continued growth, learning, and connection. This committee provides opportunities to stay informed on emerging technology, health planning, and other timely topics while sharing knowledge gained through years of professional experience. Legacy Leaders fosters meaningful engagement, lifelong learning, and purposeful involvement within the business and community landscape.

The Governmental Affairs 
​Committee will focus on local, state and federal issues. Provide forums for candidate views on business issues and coordinates programs with area legislators.

The Film Friendly Texas Committee works to position our community as a welcoming and supportive destination for film, television, and digital media production. In partnership with the Texas Film Commission, the committee helps coordinate local resources, encourage film-friendly practices, and promote our area’s unique locations and talent.

The Annual Golf Tournament Committee supports the planning and execution of the Chamber’s annual golf tournament, a key fundraising and networking event for the business community. The committee assists with course coordination, sponsorship development, team and player engagement, volunteer support, and event logistics.

The Bi-Annual Run Series Committee supports the organization of the Chamber’s two annual running events, the Color Run and Santa Shuffle. The committee works on planning, volunteer coordination, sponsorship engagement, and participant experience. Its goal is to help deliver safe, well-organized events that promote wellness, community participation, and support for the Chamber’s mission and local initiatives.

Our Ambassador Program is a great way to get engaged with the business community. The Ambassadors provide a crucial link between the Chamber and its members. 

The Tacos & Tea-quila with a Twist Committee supports the planning and execution of one of the Chamber’s signature events, focused on celebrating local cuisine, beverages, and community connections. The committee works collaboratively to assist with event logistics, vendor engagement, sponsorship support, and guest experience.

Vision XXI Alumni is comprised of graduates of the Chamber’s Vision XXI Leadership Program who remain actively engaged in supporting leadership development within the community. Alumni serve as ambassadors for the program, participate in mentorship and networking opportunities, and assist with program activities and events.

The Ladies in Leadership Committee brings together women in leadership roles who are committed to professional growth, meaningful connection, and community impact. Through networking opportunities, educational discussions, and collaborative initiatives, the committee provides a supportive environment to share experiences, develop leadership skills, and empower one another to lead with confidence and purpose.
